Managing Principals

David W. Valentine is a Managing Principal at Wilson Gordon, LLC.  Mr. Valentine has over 20 years of finance and investment experience at leading companies in private equity and investment banking and has served on the Boards of Directors for numerous public and private companies as well as non-profit, educational and philanthropic organizations. Mr. Valentine, prior to co-founding Wilson Gordon, has most recently been a Managing Member of 221 Partners, LLC, a private equity restructuring firm. Mr. Valentine previously was a Founding Principal of Victory Park Capital, a multi-billion dollar private investment firm that he co-founded in 2006.   Prior to co-founding Victory Park, Mr. Valentine served as the Portfolio Manager of Private Investments for Magnetar, a Chicago-based hedge fund.  Before going to the buy-side, Mr. Valentine served as the Global Head of Debt Private Placements for UBS Investment Bank.  Prior to UBS as a junior level investment banker, Mr. Valentine held positions at ABN AMRO and Nesbitt Burns.  Mr. Valentine has a BA from Washington and Lee University.

Marshall Murphy is a Managing Principal at Wilson Gordon, LLC. Mr. Murphy has over 20 years of finance and investment experience at leading companies in private equity, real estate services, technology, and investment banking.  Mr. Murphy has led business expansion by sourcing high-impact mergers & acquisitions, business partnerships, and joint venture investments. He has executed a broad array of transactions to support growth opportunities including IPOs, venture capital/private equity investments, high-yield debt issuance, and securitizations. Mr. Murphy has proven leadership in corporate finance, treasury, investor relations, and new business development --with a focus on increasing shareholder value.  Mr. Murphy was previously the EVP and Head of Corporate Development, Investor Relations, and Capital Raising at Nationstar Mortgage Holdings, Inc (a Fortress Investment portfolio company) from 2011-2015.  Prior to Nationstar, Mr. Murphy held executive positions at MCG Capital, E*Trade Financial, Credit Suisse, Bank of America (& predecessor entities), and Kidder Peabody.  Mr. Murphy has a BA from Washington and Lee University and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
